Richard (President) called the meeting to Order at 7:45pm.

Announcements:

Treasurer's  Report submitted and approved.

Old Business:

The club approved a motion to host a AMA sanctioned "Soaring Contest".  The event is to take place Saturday, April 6th from 9:00am to 5:00pm.  They plan to charge $10.00 admission.  Martin Brungard reported that everything was in order and that they are looking forward to a successful event.  A reminder to the membership that Sunday, April 7th is reserved as a "Rain out" date for the event.

Sebastian (Vice President)  acting as chairman directed Jeff Owens, Ory Neil and Chris Farrel to act as the committee to commission a Member of the Year award and to present ideas to the membership outlining the selection of the recipient process.  Ory Neil gave the following outline:

"This is a proposal to establish a Member of the Year Award.  The award is to be presented at the December club meeting.  Nominations may be presented at any time of the year, and all nominations will be revealed at the December meeting to be voted on.  The award will be in the form of a plaque (8 x 4 inches).  The plaque will be engraved with the Seminole Club emblem, member of the year contributions to the club, and the name of the member winning the award and the year.  The plaque will be paid for by the club and not to exceed $35.00.  This proposal is presented by the committee comprising of: Ory Neil (speaker), Chris Farrel, Hank Janowski, and Jeff Owens."

The club had voted on and approved to participate in Clear Channel Communication's "Spring into Summer Expo 2002" held at the Tallahassee Mall on the weekend of

New Business:

Richard (President) announced the formation of two committees:

The first is a "PR (Public Relations)" committee.  The purpose of this committee is to plan events and activities with the intent to educated the public about the club.

The second  is the "Find A New Field" committee.  Recently, the Havana club had suddenly lost their field.  This unfortunate event was a "wake up call" so to speak of how easy it can really happen.  Our clubs current field is leased from the county.  The 2yr lease is very misleading.  While the lease makes provisions for a two year term, there is a clause that states that they can cancel the lease at any point with a 30 day notice.

Richard (President) adjourned the meeting at 8:52pm
