One of my frequent topics of discussion is our flying site.  The SRCC airfield has occupied our current site at the Leon county Landfill since 1991.  Judd Curtis, the Landfill Director, has become an ally of SRCC and continues to recommend lease extensions as well as recommending a place for SRCC in the Landfill master close out plan.  Judd's support does not in any way guarantee that we will have a new or old space when the close out plan comes to fruition.   My concern is that we, as a club, are depending on the county to provide us with space for a site and yet we, as a club, are doing nothing to promote ourselves to acquire a space.
I am recommending that we take a two-pronged approach to this problem.

Plan A
SRCC will relocate to a new area at the landfill.

Plan B
SRCC will move to a new location outside of the landfill.

In order to implement Plan A and for it to be successful, we need to start playing some politics.  I am positive that not one of the county commissioners has any idea about SRCC.  If the commissioners have no idea who or what we are, why would they vote to allocate any
