June 2002      The Newsletter of the Seminole Radio Control Club      Monthly Edition

Words From the Prez
Richard Wynn

The latest issue of Model Aviation discusses that there will most likely be an increase in membership dues.  To put it simply, the AMA needs to increase revenues by one million dollars and it looks like membership and club charters will increase.  Read Dave Brown's column in the July issue of Model Aviation for the details.
We met with a real estate agent last Thursday.  He came out to the field to see what type of facility we have and how we use the land for RC aircraft.  He had the opportunity to observer several types of aircraft in flight and saw first hand  SRCC in action. I believe that this will help him in a search for potential sites.  We will keep you posted on any updates.
The company I work for, Cybermark, will close its doors on June 14th.  I am in the process of searching for a new job and I have a several companies interested. What is unfortunate is my skill set will most likely take me out of the state of Florida.  While I have some opportunities here and I do enjoy this area of the country, I have to be realistic about my career; the high tech industry can be fairly transient.  In any case, we need to have a plan in place for my replacement. Please contact any one of the officers if you would be willing to serve out a partial term.

The fiscal year for the Seminole R/C Club runs from July 1 through June 30. Accordingly, dues for next year (July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003) are now being collected. Payment should be made to our new Treasurer and
not to me.

Dues are $20 student, $60 regular, and $75 family. See the Web site for details.
Please send Sam any changes in your address, phone numbers, channels, AMA, etc., and he will send them to me for inclusion in the club roster. (
Hey Justin--the USPS just returned the last three newsletters all at once as being undeliverable. What is your new address?)
