Words From the Prez Richard Wynn
I was sorry to see that most of you missed our last meeting. We enjoyed some good food from Banjo's, ate our fill and then some, and even took some extra home and, to top it off, had excellent raffle prizes. Sam handed out the new keys and badges to all who had their dues up to date. Any members whose dues are up to date and missed the meeting should have already received a badge and key in the mail. I personally am glad to see the return of our membership badge and I hope everyone starts to wear them again. The club voted to build some new starting tables. If you review last months Model Aviation you will find a construction article on starting tables. These tables restrict the movement of the aircraft with padded 2x4s against the wing while the old tables had a set of 1 inch dowels that held the aircraft's tail. Some other attributes of these tables are the ability to stand behind the model since the tail is supported by a 2x6, a place to hang your field box …. Chris Farrell volunteered to build the tables at the meeting on the 13th. To my astonishment the two new starting tables were at the field ready for use when I went out on Sunday the 20th. I must applaud Chris on the outstanding job he did -- the construction is first class. I used one to start, perform engine adjustments, run up, and do the radio check and control surface inspection. Try these tables. I am sure you will find them as useful as I did.
See ya at the Field!
Dues Update
Treasurer Sam Varn has reported that as of July 24, 2002, we have 41 paid members -- that is half the membership. So, check your address label and if there is an "02" after your name, please send your dues to Sam. Then you will be sent your name badge and a gate key. Sam will keep a supply of keys with him if anyone wants
